It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death, at dawn today, March 19 2014, Father Raymond Charles Masterson, Parochial Vicar of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Campinas. The funeral will be held in the Cathedral itself, in time to be confirmed.

Father Raymond was born on April 20, 1935, in New York, USA, son of Edward and Marie Masterson.

Attended Primary School at St Agatha Home, Nanuet, NY from 1941 to 1949 then transferred to St Agnes Home in Sparkill, NY and attended Tappan Zee High School in Piermont, NY from 1949-1953. He attended the John Paul II Seminary in Novo Hamburgo RS from 1981 to1984.

He was ordained deacon on 25 January 1984 and elder (priest?) on December 08, 1984 in Itumbiara, GOIÀS, by Don José do Nascimento Belvino.

Other studies: Pius X - School of Music, Gregorian Chant and keyboard in Purchase, N , 1954-1956 ; Washington Theological Union, Washington, DC, USA , from 1980 to 1981.

Was Pastor at the Parish of Buriti Alegre, Diocese of Itumbiara, GOIÀS, from 1984 to 1989, and Pastor in Joviana, Diocese of Itumbiara, GOIÀS, from 1989 to 1990.

In 1991 he was accepted in the Archdiocese of Campinas, as Vicar of the Parish of Our Lady of Conception Metropolitan Cathedral of Campinas.
