Albert Altomare, 83, of Palmer Township, formerly of New York, Bartonsville and East Stroudsburg, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 in Triumph Hospital. Born: On January 5, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late John and Antoinette Prevet Altomare. Personal: He retired after 30 years as a fireman with the City of New York, Engine 201, Borough of Brooklyn. Previously he was employed by Sears. Albert served with the Army on the medical ship, Acadia, for 2 years during World War II. He enjoyed photography, music and dancing. Memberships: Albert was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church. He was also a member of Slate Belt AARP and Slate Belt Senior Citizen Center, Bangor and CLU Dance Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles and American Legion Post 0346, all of East Stroudsburg, VFW Post 6609, Deposit, NY and Retired Firefighters Association, City of New York.
