John (Sammy) Tolins
Feb. 3, 1936 - Mar. 7, 2006

Sammy Tolins passed away on Tuesday 3/7/06 after a long fight with Alzheimer's Disease. Dear brother of the late Richard. A long time resident of New York's Greenwich Village, Sammy was known, throughout the area, as a fixture in the neighborhood and a friend to all.

An avid New York Yankee fan, he could recite from memory the winning pitchers from all 26 world series victories. Sammy was retired from the food industry, where he worked in wholesale and retail for several years. People remember him fondly for his quick sense of humor and kindness to all that entered his life.
